I purchased the unit from a private party and the original owners manual was not available. Having the ability to download it was extremely helpful and clarified operating the equipment immensely. Charcoal filter
The charcoal filter must be changed at least every 4 months. The charcoal filter cannot be washed or regenerated. The hood can only work well in the recirculating mode if the AEG recommended filter has been used, the filter is changed as recommended in this section and if the hood is cleaned and maintained as instructed in this booklet. Therefore follow the instructions closely for best performance. The charcoal filter deals with odours which are created during cooking. Pull the two plastic stops B as shown by the arrows (fig. 5) and remove the metal filter. New charcoal filters are available from AEG or your retailer; it must not be washed. To remove rotate the filter in anticlockwise (Fig. 3). Re-fit the metal filter
