SELF-CLEAN OVEN
The self-clean oven usestemperatures above normal cooking temperatures toautomatically cleanthe oveninterior. It is normalfor the applianceto become hot duringa clean cycle. Therefore,do not touchthe oven vent, oven dooror ovenwindowas theseareas becomewarm or hot duringa cleancycle. It is better to clean the oven regularlyrather than to wait until there is a heavy build up of soil in the oven. Note: The lower oven for the Double Wall Oven model is a manualorstandardclean porcelainoven. See Care andCleaning Chart on page 14for cleaning instructions.

Removeallpans and the oven racks from theoven.The racks willdiscolor ndmay a notslideeasilyafter a cleancycle. Turnoffovenlightbeforeself-cleaning. Cleancenter frontof ovenanddoornear opening in doorgasket,porcelainoven door liner(area outsideof gasket)and oven frontframewith hotwater and detergent,non-abrasive cleansersor soap filledsteel wool pads. These areas are notexposed tocleaning temperaturesnd a shouldbe cleaned to preventsoil from bakingonduringthe cleancycle, Do not use ovencleanersor oven liner protectiveoatings c ofanykindonthe selfclean oven finishor around any part of the oven. Wipe upexcessgreaseor spilloversfrom the oven bottom to prevent excessive smoking and flare-ups during the clean cycle. Wipe up acid spillovers such as lemon juice,tomato sauceor milk-basedsauces -andsugaryspillovers. Porcelainenamel is acid resistant,not acid proof. The porcelainfinish may discolorif acid spillsare not wiped up immediately. To prevent damage, do not clean, rub or apply water to the gasket on the oven door. The gasket is designedto seal in heat during the clean cycle. Rubbing or cleaningwill damagethe gasketand may affectthe seal.
