I Recently purchased yet another Service Manual from Owner-Manuals.com, this time for a Sony EVS700ES/UB Videocassette Recorder. The Manual was available for upload within two hours and is an Extremely Good copy, as some of this I was able to enlarge to get even better detail. Once Again, Very happy with the result!
 CA-MXG7BK JVC Service Manual by Kian Keong Ng;
A good and useful manual. With these, We was abled to isolate and pin point the component that was causing the problem. The total time spent in troubleshooting is very much reduced.

CHAPTER 5 TROUBLESHOOTING

c) Adjusting sub-scanning direction magnification Determine the difference between a2 + a3 and b2 + b3 in sample A and sample B to adjust displacement. 1) Press the Register/Set key, then press the # key to enter the service mode. 2) Use the v w shift keys to select #6 SCANNER and press the Set key. 3) Use the v w shift keys to select 8.CCD. 4) Use the v w shift keys to select 016. The 016 parameter is now displayed. 5) If a2 + a3 > b2 + b3, Decrease the 016 parameter value. If a2 + a3 < b2 + b3, Increase the 016 parameter value. (Use the numeric keys for input.) An increase (decrease) of 3 in the parameter value yields a displacement of approximately 1 mm. Reference: An increase (decrease) of 1 in the parameter value yields a displacement of approximately 0.33 mm. 6) Press the Set key. After the message Registered has appeared on the display, the value of parameter 017 is shown. 7) Add (subtract) 1/3 of the value added (subtracted) in step 5) to the 017 parameter value. If a2 + a3 > b2 + b3, Subtract from the 017 parameter value. If a2 + a3 < b2 + b3, Add to the 017 parameter value. (Use the numeric keys for input.) 8) Press the Set key. Example: When a2 = 10 mm a3 = 11 mm b2 = 12 mm b3 = 12 mm, a2 + a3 = 21 b2 + b3 = 24 Since the difference is 3 mm, add 9 to the 016 parameter value and add to the 017 parameter value.
