I Recently purchased yet another Service Manual from Owner-Manuals.com, this time for a Sony EVS700ES/UB Videocassette Recorder. The Manual was available for upload within two hours and is an Extremely Good copy, as some of this I was able to enlarge to get even better detail.

Select the S03:SUB BRIGHT with the value to FUNCTION (�/�) key. Set the initial setting value with the FUNCTION ( key. repeat the steps 3�5 above. Receive the HD black level pattern and select the STANDARD, then repeat the steps 3�5 above. Receive the HD black level pattern and select THEATER mode, then repeat the steps 3�5 above Input the DVD black level pattern to the INPUT 3 and select STANDARD, then repeat the steps 3�5 above. 10. Input the DVD black level pattern to the INPUT 3 and select the THEATER, then repeat the steps 3 � 5 above. 11. Set the initial setting value with the FUNCTION ( key. 3�4 above. Select the DVD (525i), then repeat the steps 3� 4 above. Select the HD (1080i) pedestal pattern and then repeat the steps 3�4 above. If the contrast is not the best with the initial setting value, make fine adjustment of the S04:SUB CONT. until you get the optimum contrast. /)
