Thanks so much for the Owner's manual for my Sony PS - FL1. I had purchased the turntable off of eBay. It came in and looked great. Packed well and appeared to be great. I balanced and aligned the tone are and hooked it up. When trying to play a record the tone are would move to the right place and just before it would drop to play it moved back off the edge of the record before touching down. I searched the net for an answer to this issue. No luck. Then I purchased the owners manual and sure enough there was a place to adjust where the stylus touched down. That adjustment solved the problem and saved me a $35 feet to have the player checked out. The manual is well written and easy to understand. It is a must have for anyone with this front loading Sony turntable.

Some years back I pruchased a Sansui G-9000. I had it cleaned up and a problem with the left channel repaired. When I got it back I hooked it up to my tape decks, turn tables, TV and it played great. The only thing I was not really satisfied with was the performance of my Graphic Equalizer. I purchased this owner's manual had poured myself a cup of coffee. The manual is well organized and written in plain language. It also contained the solution to my dissatisfaction. By using the preamp connections coupled I was able to run everything through my graphic equalizer and now enjoy the full potential of my complete system.

An excellent service for the price, however, it would also have been handy if the troubleshooter pages were included. The manual is only sent in the language of your country, thus it looks as though there are some pages missing. Otherwise highly recommended.

Problem The power turns off automatically. Check Is Auto Power Off set to On? Remedy If Auto Power Off is set to On, the power turns off automatically if no operation is performed for over 30 minutes (page 43). The player�s power may turn off together with the power of the connected TV. If you do not want the player�s power to turn off when the TV�s power is turned off, set HDMI Control to Off (page 42). The player�s power may turn on together with the power of the connected TV. If you do not want the player�s power to turn on when the TV�s power is turned on, set HDMI Control to Off (page 42). The inputs of the connected TV or AV system (AV receiver or amplifier, etc.) may automatically switch to the player when playback starts on the player or the menu screen (Home Media Gallery, etc.) is displayed. If you do not want the inputs of the connected TV and/or AV system (AV receiver or amplifier, etc.) to switch automatically, set HDMI Control to Off (page 42). Operate with the remote control of the device connected to the CONTROL IN terminal.

If the power cord is disconnected or there is a power failure while the player�s power is on, the settings you have made may be cleared. Always press � STANDBY/ON on the player�s front panel or � STANDBY/ON on the remote control and check that POWER OFF has turned off from the player�s front panel display before disconnecting the power cord. Be particularly careful when the power cord is connected to the AC outlet on another device because the player turns off in conjunction with the device. We recommend plugging the power cord into a wall outlet whenever possible. When a disc on which files are recorded is inserted, depending on the number of files recorded on the disc, loading may take several dozen minutes. The characters that cannot be displayed on this player are displayed in �. Set Hybrid Disc Playback to DVD (page 43).
