Having bought a pre-owned Sony FM stereo tuner through eBay, it came without any manuals. It soon became clear that to get the best from this excellent tuner I needed a decent manual because much of the operation was not intuitive to a newboy to hi fi like me. I managed to download the official Sony multi-lingual manual from Owner-Manuals.com with no problem at all - a really quick and easy service. I'm very glad I did because I found out all the operations of the tuner and was then able to not only set it up quickly but also to get much more from it that poke-and-hope trialling would ever achieve. In my book $4.99 very well spent.

VOLUME
Turn the VOLUME control clockwise to increase the volume or anticlockwise to decrease it. Turning the VOLUME control quickly also adjusts the volume level quickly. When using the Remote Control, press the VOLUME + button to increase the volume or press the VOLUME � button to decrease it. You can adjust the volume level between 0 and 50. For Private Listening Connect a pair of headphones to the PHONES jack. No sound comes out of the speakers. Be sure to turn down the volume before connecting or putting on headphones.

Set the Volume Level to 0 by pressing the MUTE button on the Remote Control. Press this button again to restore the Volume Level to its previous level.

The CA-V808T has some preset sound effects that give you control of the way your music sounds, so you can tailor it for your room and for the quality of the source. We can give you some idea of how each one affects the music, but the only way to really tell is to try them yourself. You can also create up to three of your own customized S.E.A. Increases resonance and bass. Adds depth and brilliance to the sound, like in a concert hall. Adds clarity and spreads the sound, like in an outdoor stadium.
