Whilst this is a photo copy, and some of the pages are a little askew, it was all readable and intact. A real bonus finding an old manual for a classic piece of kit that no other site had.

Not onlycan thiscausetheelement to requiremoreenergy and time, butit canalso resultinspillovers burningontothe element whichcause extra effortin cleaning. � Do not use nonflatspecialtyitems that are oversized, uneven or do not meet proper cookware specificationssuch as round bottom woks with rings, rippled bottom canners, and oversized or non-fiat bottom lobster pots, large pressure cannersand griddles,etc. � Test castironwaresinceallare notflat. Alsobe cautionedagainstpossible"impact damage" shouldthe heavy cookpotbe droppedon the glass-ceramicsurface.
Acceptablecanningpotsshouldnotbe oversizedand must have a flat bottom. When cannersdo notmeet thesestandards,the use of the Hi settingbecomesexcessiveand may resultin damage to the cooktop. In addition,water may not come to a boll and canners may not reach 10 Ibs.of pressure. The acceptable canningprocedureuses the Hi setting just long enough to bringthe water to a boil,then lower the settingto maintainthe water temperature.
Heavy gauge cookpotswith fiat, smooth bottomswill usually work in a similar way. However,there are some differencesin the cookingperformanceof variousmaterials. � Aluminum cookpotsheat quicklyand evenly. Best suitedfor simmering,braising, boilingand frying. Note: Aluminumcookpotswill cause metal markson the glass-ceramicsurface if you slidethem across the cool(top. Remove metal marks immediately. � Stainless steel cookpots will evenly distribute heat if constructedof tri-ply or combined with other metals such as aluminum and copper. Use for cooking functionssimilarto aluminum. � Cast iron cookpots are slow to heat but cook more evenly once temperature is reached. Use for longterm low heat cookingor for browningand frying. � Porcelain enamel-on-steel or porcelain enamel-on-cast iron should be used accordingto manufacturer'sdirections. Do not allowto boildry. � Glass-ceramic, earthenware, heatprcofglassorglazedcookpotsmayscratchthe glass-ceramiccooktopand therefore are not recommended. Note Halogen element: Aluminumcookpotsmay cause the element to cycle even when the controlsetting is Hi.
