Actually, I was looking for this information for 3 years!...now thanks to you, the manual is on my hands and of great help, cause I understand now where I was doing wrong connections and wires...excellent, I'll be back to you if in need, thank you.

This manual covers the main equipment features only. While it also includes the procedure for saving and loading from the now long obsolete memory cards it does not mention the how to operate with the optional floppy drive interface so I am still at a loss about how to use this! Note that there is a separate manual covering the MIDI interface and programming via the keyboard, not included in this download. You will also need to get hold of this if you want to use the MIDI interface properly. Basically there is little difference between this manual and the free to download manual for the similar PR60 model.
Customers using the EDIROL R-1
The CD-2 is compatible with the R-1
Songs recorded by the R-1 can be turned into a music CD using the CD-2. * However, certain conditions must be met in order for a song recorded on the R-1 to be handled by the CD-2. For details, refer to the section below entitled R-1 songs that can be handled on the CD-2 and Necessary free space of CompactFlash. * For details on creating a music CD, see Pages 4648 of the CD-2 owners manual.
***FIG
CompactFlash cards used by the R-1 can also be used as they are by the CD-2.

R-1 songs that can be handled on the CD-2
Songs recorded on the R-1 that meet the following conditions can be handled on the CD-2. Record Mode must be WAV 16 bit (16 bit WAV file). Track title must not contain ~ (tilde) or double-byte characters (e.g., Japanese). Track length must be longer than four seconds. Track (file) must be located in the root directory of the CompactFlash card. * The CD-2 is able to display and play back a maximum of 99 tracks.
Necessary free space of CompactFlash
When a CompactFlash card previously used by the R-1 is inserted in the CD-2 for the first time, the CD-2 will create a track list file from the contents that are recorded on the CompactFlash card. Once this track list file is created, you will be able to perform operations using the CD-2, such as playing back tracks. Creating the track list file requires 60 KB of space. If the CompactFlash card has less than 60 KB of space available (for example, when youve used up all available space on the card as the result of using the R-1 to record for the maximum amount of time), the CD-2 will not be able to create this track list file. In this case, the CompactFlash card will not be recognized, and the message CF Not Enough Mem will appear. Youll need to use the R-1 to delete unneeded tracks from the card in order to create at least 60 KB of free space. Once you have used the CD-2 to perform an operation such as playing a track on the CompactFlash card, the track list file will have been created, so, after that, it wont matter if you record for the maximum possible time on that card using the R-1. If you use the R-1 to format a CompactFlash card, the track list file will also be deleted. If you use the CD-2 to format a CompactFlash card, a new track list file will be created, so we recommend that you use the CD-2 to format the card.
