The Service Manual for the Kenwood KR-V55R provided by owner-manuals.com was as described/advertised. The contents provided the necessary information to effect a diagnosis of the unit. The schematics above all else was instrumental in tracing the the signal flow from component to component.

I filled in some questions, payed the order with Ideal, and within 24 hours I had my service manual. 3-1. MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENTS
PRECAUTION 1. Clean the following parts with a denatured-alcohol-moistened swab : record/playback head pinch roller erase head rubber belts capstan 2. Demagnetize the record/playback head with a head demagnetizer. (Do not bring the head demagnetizer close to the erase head.) 3. Do not use a magnetized screwdriver for the adjustments. 4.
