Having bought a pre-owned Sony FM stereo tuner through eBay, it came without any manuals. It soon became clear that to get the best from this excellent tuner I needed a decent manual because much of the operation was not intuitive to a newboy to hi fi like me. I managed to download the official Sony multi-lingual manual from Owner-Manuals.com with no problem at all - a really quick and easy service. I'm very glad I did because I found out all the operations of the tuner and was then able to not only set it up quickly but also to get much more from it that poke-and-hope trialling would ever achieve. In my book $4.99 very well spent.

TO SET THE ALARM TO WAKE TO RADIO

Set the alarm time as previously instructed. Turn the unit on and slide the FUNCTION switch � to the FM ST. or AM position. Select a radio station and make sure the VOLUME � is set as desired. Slide the desired ALARM switch (ALARM1 or ALARM2), located at the left side of the unit to the ON position.
Turn the unit off and slide the WAKE switch to the MUSIC position. When the actual time matches the selected preset alarm time(s), the unit automatically turns on. To shut off the alarm, see TO SHUT THE ALARM OFF section on the following page.

Set the alarm time as previously instructed. Insert a CD into the CD player, turn the unit on and slide the FUNCTION switch � to the CD position. Make sure the VOLUME � is set as desired. Slide the desired ALARM switch (ALARM1 or ALARM2), located at the left side of the unit to the ON position.
Turn the unit off and slide the WAKE switch to the MUSIC position. When the actual time matches the selected preset alarm time(s), the unit automatically turns on and the CD begins to play. To shut off the alarm, see TO SHUT THE ALARM OFF section on the following page.
