This service manual for the Kenwood KT-990D was reproduced really well ,is very legible and manual is complete.Combined with the low price paid,in the future,I will be checking Owner-Manuals.com any time I need a manual.

When I purchased this manual I had my doubts regarding the quality as the price was so reasonable as compared to other outlets.
The manual itself is of high standard the print is very clear as are the diagrams. Obviously with the diagrams one has to zoom in otherwise it is to small to be able to read.
Overall I am very pleased with the company who delivered as they said and with the manual they supplied.
I occasionally require a manual and now having registered with this company I shall order from them in the future.

6. ADJUSTMENT
For adjustment, use the CD RECEIVER (XC-L5).
6.1 Test Mode
There are two test mode: test mode 1 for execution of special operations and test mode 2 with LINE MUTE operation in the same way as for the deck by itself.

7 How to enter into Test Mode 1
In case of system operation ........
Receive �A15F� (bus data 1C5F) with the remote control or switch on the power with the TEST MODE JP [W101 (GNDD) and W103 (TEST)] of the MAIN UNIT short-circuited (pin 44 of the microcomputer connected to GND). (Refer to Fig. 6-1.)

In case of single operation ........
Connect part A of the MAIN UNIT [W107,W113 (GNDA), W112 (GNDD) and chassis (KN2001)], short-circuit the TEST MODE JP [W101 GNDD) and W103 (TEST)] (pin 44 of the microcomputer connected to GND), and supply DC power to part B [TC+ (10 V), TC- (-10 V) and V+5.6 (+5.6 V) of CN2601]. (Refer to Fig. 6-1.)

7 Operation of test mode 1
(1) When the power is switched on, cassette mechanism switch check mode is entered and the CD RECEIVER (XC-L5) on the displays the following. 1 FUNCTION is set to AUX. 2 FWD recording is performed for 4 sec. 3 REV recording is performed for 4 sec. 4 FWD playback is performed for 4 sec. (Function becomes TAPE), and the unit stops. LINE MUTE opens in REC condition. (3) The keys �PLAY�, �FF�, �RWD� and �STOP� operate normally, and return to cassette mechanism switch check mode is made with the �OPEN/CLOSE� key. (4) �DOLBY� ON/OFF check mode is made with the �ASES� key. (5) When abnormal operation is detected, the corresponding code will be displayed on the

(2) When the �RECORDING PAUSE� key is pressed, the mode for opening of LINE MUTE is reached, and when it is pressed again, automatic recording and playback mode is reached and the following operation is performed.

7 Cancellation of test mode 1
Press the �STANDBY/ON� key or disconnect the AC power supply.
