I AM HIGHLY IMPRESSED BY THE EASE OF USE OF THIS DOWNLOAD SERVICE. INSTRUCTIONS ARE CLEAR AND SIMPLE TO FOLLOW....EVEN BY TECHNOPHOBES SUCH AS MYSELF. THE EMAILS POINT YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION...ITS SO EASY PEASY. THE DOWNLOAD CHOICE OF USER MANUALS IS EXTENSIVE AND I COULD NOT FIND A CHEAPER OR MORE EFFICIENT SERVICE ON THE INTERNET. I COULD NOT HAVE MADE A BETTER CHOICE OF INFORMATION PROVIDER. SHOULD I EVER NEED ANOTHER USER MANUAL, THEN THIS IS THE FIRST CHOICE SITE. r :AUTO The �ash is automatically activated according to the recording condition. s : AUTO/Red-eye reduction*1 (White) The �ash is automatically activated according to the recording condition. � Use this when you take pictures of people in low lighting conditions. t : Forced Flash ON The �ash is activated every time regardless of the recording condition. � Use this when your subject is back-lit or under �uorescent light. q : Forced ON/Red-eye reduction*1 the �ash mode is set to Forced ON/ Red-eye reduction. u : Slow sync./Red-eye reduction*1 (Orange) or When you take a picture with a dark background landscape, this feature makes the shutter speed slow when the �ash is activated, so that the dark background landscape will become bright. � You can use this setting only in [NIGHT PORTRAIT], [PARTY] or [CANDLE LIGHT] mode. v : Forced Flash OFF The �ash is not activated in any recording condition. � Use this when taking pictures in places where the use of the �ash is not permitted. *1 Flash is activated twice to prevent eyes of the subjects appearing red. The subject should not move until the second �ash is activated.
A Photo ï¬�ash â�¢ Do not cover the photo ï¬�ash with your ï¬�ngers or any other items. â� Switching to the appropriate ï¬�ash setting Set the ï¬�ash setting of the built-in ï¬�ash according to the scene to be recorded.
1 Press q [<]. 2 Press e/r or q [<] to switch the �ash setting.

AUTO AUTO/RED-EYE FORCED FLASH ON FORCED FLASH OFF SELECT SET
� In [PARTY] or [CANDLE LIGHT] mode,
� For the �ash setting contents, refer to �Flash setting�. For the selectable �ash setting, refer to �Available �ash settings by recording mode� (P40).
3 Press [MENU/SET].
� You can also press the shutter button halfway to SET. � When 5 seconds pass without any operation, the setting selected at the time is automatically adopted.
