This is an excellent handbook. We had no information on the appliance until we obtained this and are now able to use the appliance to its full potential. Strongly recommended.
;
Very happy to find this from owners-manual.com and the enclosed spec sheet as well.
Not longer available from Sony.

The Owner's manual was very helpful. The WEGA is about 35 years old and needed repair.
Your Website is pretty good und easily to handle.
Thank You

To wall outlet
 Before you plug in the DTR-8.3, confirm that all connections have been made properly. Turning on the power may cause a momentary power surge, which might interfere with other electrical equipment on the same circuit, such as computers. If this happens, use a wall outlet on a different circuit.
Turning on the power from the remote controller
Before you can use the remote controller, you must perform steps 1 and 2 above and place the DTR-8.3 in the standby state. 1. Select AV Amp in the Home menu. 2. Tap the ON button. To return the DTR-8.3 to the standby state, press the OFF button.
Turning on the power
1. Plug the power cord into an AC wall outlet. The Standby indicator will light up. 2. Press the Standby/On button to turn on the DTR-8.3. The display will light up and the Standby indicator will turn off. If you press the Standby/On button again, the receiver returns to Standby state.

Memory preservation The DTR-8.3 does not require memory preservation batteries. A built-in memory backup system preserves the contents of memory (e.g., speaker settings and surround settings) during power failures and even when the unit is unplugged. The unit must be plugged in order to charge the back-up system. The length of time that the memory will be preserved will vary depending on the ambient climate. On the average, memory contents are protected over a period of a few weeks after the last time the unit has been unplugged. This period may be shorter when the unit is exposed to a highly humid climate.
To change the display of the input source from TAPE to MD
If you connected an MD recorder to the TAPE jack on the DTR-8.3, you can have MD appear when the TAPE source button is pressed. Changing the display: Press and hold down the TAPE source button until the display changes from TAPE to MD (approx. 3 seconds).

To return the display to its original setting, perform the same procedure.
