This manual is for the usa model only. But it is clear
, accurate and comprehensive, including board layouts and schematics.
I found it extremely useful for my mitsubishi dp-86da, but the same diagram would also work for the realistic lab5000 and hi fi 80. Thanks.

6.2 TEST MODE
CAUTION-Laser radiation when open. DO NOT STARE INTO BEAM.
When operating the DVD-ROM directly, it is possible to operate by connecting the RU-V101 to the DVD-ROM with the interface. When the test command is used, put in the short socket to MA and SL pins of pin header (CN700) on the rear panel, and turn the power on.
