Having bought a pre-owned Sony FM stereo tuner through eBay, it came without any manuals. It soon became clear that to get the best from this excellent tuner I needed a decent manual because much of the operation was not intuitive to a newboy to hi fi like me. I managed to download the official Sony multi-lingual manual from Owner-Manuals.com with no problem at all - a really quick and easy service. I'm very glad I did because I found out all the operations of the tuner and was then able to not only set it up quickly but also to get much more from it that poke-and-hope trialling would ever achieve. In my book $4.99 very well spent.

Special Recording Copying from DVD To VCR
This unit allows you to copy the contents of a DVD to a VHS tape with a press of the DIRECT DUBBING button.
Recording from another video recorder
With this video recorder you can make recordings from an external source, such as copying from another video recorder or a camcorder.

Note q If the DVD you are attempting to copy is copy protected, you may not be able to copy the disc.

Insert Disc Insert the disc you wish to copy in the DVD deck and close the disc tray. Insert VHS Tape Insert a blank VHS videotape into the VCR deck. Copy the DVD to VHS Tape Press the DIRECT DUBBING button on the unit front panel. q The DVD will go into Play mode and the VCR will go into Record mode. q If the DVD disc menu appears, you may need to press the Play button manually to begin copying. Stop the Copy Process. When the DVD is finished playing, press the STOP button twice within 5 seconds to end the copy. q You must stop the Copy process manually when the DVD movie ends, or the unit may replay and record over and over again.
Note In the following description, this video recorder will be one used for recording and will be referred to as VCR B. The other appliance will be used for playback and will be referred to as VCR A.

VCR A should be connected to the SCART socket on the rear panel of your unit or the AV sockets on the front panel of your unit.
2 Insert theB.recorded tape into VCR A and a blank tape into VCR 3 4
To start recording, press the RECORD on VCR B and PLAY N on VCR A. When you want to finish copying, press the STOP x on both video recorders. Press STOP twice within 5 seconds.
