Having bought a pre-owned Sony FM stereo tuner through eBay, it came without any manuals. It soon became clear that to get the best from this excellent tuner I needed a decent manual because much of the operation was not intuitive to a newboy to hi fi like me. I managed to download the official Sony multi-lingual manual from Owner-Manuals.com with no problem at all - a really quick and easy service. I'm very glad I did because I found out all the operations of the tuner and was then able to not only set it up quickly but also to get much more from it that poke-and-hope trialling would ever achieve. In my book $4.99 very well spent.

These settings are retained in memory until they are changed, even the unit is turned off. �Underlined items are the factory presets. Menus Disc Items Audio Choose the preferred audio language. English French Spanish Original§1 Other ¢¢¢¢§2 Subtitle Choose the preferred subtitle language. Automatic§3 English French Spanish Other ¢¢¢¢§2 Menus Choose the preferred language for disc menus. English French Spanish Other ¢¢¢¢§2 Ratings Set a ratings level to limit DVD-Video play. 8 No Limit 1 to 7: Prohibits play of DVD-Video with corresponding ratings recorded on them. 0 Lock All Entering a password The password screen is shown when you select levels 0 to 7. 1. Input a 4-digit password with the numbered buttons. 1. �If you enter a wrong number, press [CANCEL] to erase it. 2. Press [ENTER]. 1. �Do not forget your password. 3. Press [ENTER] to confirm the 4 digits. �Now, when you insert a DVD-Video that exceeds the ratings limit you set, a �message appears on the screen. Follow the on-screen instructions. The original language of each disc is selected. Input a code number with the numbered buttons (� page 42). §3 If the language selected for �Audio� is not available, subtitles of that language will automatically appear if available on that disc.

Progressive Out (Component) Choose �Enable� to enable progressive output. Disable Enable Still Mode Specify the type of picture shown when paused. Automatic Field Frame Black Level Control Change the black level of the picture if you connected a television through the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT terminals.
