Well.. I'd searched for this manual and although I found many copies online I was pleased to find your website with a well balanced pricing system and easy to search and follow links. That together with the very quick response time was just what I was looking for.. being a very impatient tech.. ;-) I had the service manual in front of me within a short time.
Bookmarked.. and you can bet I will always come here first for my service & user manuals..

The service manual when downloaded and printed out was clear and easy to read. I would have liked to have been able to enlarge some details, but this was not possible as the file permissions did not allow this. The service was very good. The time taken from placing my order to downloading the document was only a few minutes.

7.1.14 UPDATING THE FIRMWARE
Purpose: To update the firmware that has been written in IC603 (flash ROM) of the MAIN Assy File name: WV5k***6.exe

Preparation before executing updating
Terminate any running programs on the PC to be used, including antivirus software and other memory-resident programs. Connect between the RS-232C terminal of the DVD-V5000 and COM 1 port of the PC. If any devices, such as a modem, are connected to COM ports other than COM 1, turn them off.

Procedures
1 Turn on the DVD-V5000. 2 Start the WV5k***6.exe program file by double-clicking on the icon. 3 Click on DOWNLOAD. Updating of the firmware starts. Notes: � If an error message is displayed, turn the unit off then back on. � Do NOT activate any other program until updating is finished. 4 Updating is finished when "Version up is complete" is displayed. 5 Turn off the DVD-V5000, by pressing the POWER button on the unit or on the remote control unit.
