The quality of this manual is good. It has all schematics and setup information for both the MDS-B3 and the MDS-B4. The scan quality is quite good, all pages are readable, This service manual also contains scans of the operating instructions from the User manual.

The manual adjustments in which jitter measurement is not performed, can be executed using this display. When any desired item number is selected, present setting of the item is shown. The adjustment value can be increased or decreased using the arrow mark keys (����). The adjustment value is stored in EEPROM. 0. TRK. Offset The tracking offset adjustment is performed. When adjusting a DVD, the tracking offset is canceled coarsely by SSI33P3720A with the peak bottom that is measured by CXD8730Q. The fine tracking offset adjustment is performed within the CXD8730Q. This adjustment sets the value for the fine adjustment. Because this is the adjustment within the CXD8730Q only, the DC component of the tracking traverse is not chaned. When adjusting CD, this setting value only is changed. The tracking offset adjustment of DVD is performed. (For SSI/33P3720A) Adjustment range: Lower 4 bits = 7 to 1, 8 to F ( +175 to +25mV, 0 to -175mV) The simple AGC adjustment of CD is performed. Adjustment range:Higher 4 bits = x000 to x101(binary) Focus gain is adjusted. Tracking gain is adjusted. When tracking gain in CD mode is adjusted, the simple AGC is set in which 5 different steps of -3.2, -1.6, 0, +1.6, +3.2 dB can be set in CXA2555Q based on the peak bottom that is measured by CXD8730Q. (Auto Tracking Offset) Then the setting inside CXD8730Q is performed. (Auto Tracking Gain) The setting inside CXD8730Q can be performed by this adjustment. When tracking gain in DVD mode is adjusted, only the setting inside CXD8730Q can be performed.
