Thanks so much for the Owner's manual for my Sony PS - FL1. I had purchased the turntable off of eBay. It came in and looked great. Packed well and appeared to be great. I balanced and aligned the tone are and hooked it up. When trying to play a record the tone are would move to the right place and just before it would drop to play it moved back off the edge of the record before touching down. I searched the net for an answer to this issue. No luck. Then I purchased the owners manual and sure enough there was a place to adjust where the stylus touched down. That adjustment solved the problem and saved me a $35 feet to have the player checked out. The manual is well written and easy to understand. It is a must have for anyone with this front loading Sony turntable.

Some years back I pruchased a Sansui G-9000. I had it cleaned up and a problem with the left channel repaired. When I got it back I hooked it up to my tape decks, turn tables, TV and it played great. The only thing I was not really satisfied with was the performance of my Graphic Equalizer. I purchased this owner's manual had poured myself a cup of coffee. The manual is well organized and written in plain language. It also contained the solution to my dissatisfaction. By using the preamp connections coupled I was able to run everything through my graphic equalizer and now enjoy the full potential of my complete system.

An excellent service for the price, however, it would also have been handy if the troubleshooter pages were included. The manual is only sent in the language of your country, thus it looks as though there are some pages missing. Otherwise highly recommended.

Preventing use of the recorder before a timer recording (child lock)
You can make all the front panel and remote control buttons inoperative using the child lock feature. This is useful when you set a timer recording and want to make sure that the timer settings are not changed before recording has finished. 1 If the recorder is on, switch it into standby.
2 Use the button to highlight the current timer recording, then press ENTER. A screen showing details of the timer recording appears. From this screen, only the recording stop time can be changed.

Program Set
2 Press and hold on the front panel for three seconds to lock the controls. The front panel display briefly shows LOCK. If any buttons are pressed on the remote or front panel, LOCK is briefly displayed again. � To unlock the recorder, press and hold on the front panel for three seconds until the display shows UNLOCK. � To cancel a timer recording when the recorder is locked, first unlock the recorder (see above), then press and hold ì REC for three seconds.
3 Set a new Stop time for the timer recording. Use the / buttons to select the hour or minute field, then use the / buttons to change the time. 4 Press ENTER to set the new time and exit the screen. Recording will continue until the new stop time is reached.

Frequently Asked Questions � Even though the timer is set, the recorder doesn�t start recording! Check that the disc loaded is recordable, not locked (see Lock Disc on page 49), and that there are fewer than 99 titles already on the DVD. � The recorder won�t let me enter a timer program! Why not? You can�t enter a timer program if the clock isn�t set.
Canceling and stopping a timer recording in progress
After a timer recording has started, you can cancel the program (but continue recording), or stop recording completely if you need to.
