I found the manual to be clear concise and complete. It was of immense assistance when removing the unit as the unit was over 22 years old and the wiring diagram was unobtainable from the manufacturer. The exploded drawings were clear as were the instructions and labels.

Removing and Replacing the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM)
1. 2. 3. Remove the battery door and battery as described in the procedures. Slide the SIM latch away from the SIM as shown in Figure 3. Carefully lift the SIM out of the phone.

Figure 3. Removing the SIM 4. 5. 6. To replace, place the SIM into the holder, ensuring the keyed corner of the SIM aligns with the notch molded into the holder. Slide the SIM latch toward the SIM to lock it. Replace the battery and battery cover as described in the procedures.
