I was having a hard time finding the problem with this Mackie 1604 unit. I didn't have a schematic. Went looking on the web and found your site and the price was more then reasonable. Ordered it and within the hour had the manual and within 15 minutes had the unit fixed. Best $4.99 I ever spent. Thank you.

This is a service manual in every sense of the word ( French and German versions of the text are included, as well as English..)
There are explanations of the mechanical and electrical functions, plenty of mechanical drawings, and the needed schematics. The quality of the scanning is excellent - all the component values are clearly legible - and very usefully there are pcb component layouts, so you can find a component on the schematic, and then very quicky pinpoint its physical location on the relevant pcb.
I cannot see how I can give this manual any less than the maximum 5 stars! Great value for money, which will pay for itself immediately. Excellent all round!

3-3. Detecting Mechanism
<Selecting between Tax/EURO exchange functions> Either of the Tax and Euro exchange functions can be selected by changing the signal with the jumper cables on the KEY PWB. <Backup of Tax/EURO exchange functions> This machine is an AC/DC type which retains Tax data (tax rates and others) and EURO exchange data in memory only when power is supplied from the battery or an AC adapter. Therefore, data in memory cannot be retained if the AC adapter is disconnected. (Data in memory cannot also be retained when batteries are changed.) The detector is of mechanical contact type and consists of the code plate to output the character position detection signal to correspond to each character on the character belt, sensor gear unit to output the standard position signal, and fixed contact-piece unit.

3-1. Servicing
The printer model PTMFL7756A (Ki-OB1085CCZZ) used for the EL1801E / EL-1801C is available for service by an entire unit and therefore none of individual service parts is available for supply.
