 VSXD701S PIONEER Owner's Manual by Brad Copeland;
I purchased the unit from a private party and the original owners manual was not available. Having the ability to download it was extremely helpful and clarified operating the equipment immensely. This is a complicated unit and without the manual I would not have been able to maximize it's potential. Thank you.

Being a user of older radios of many kinds, preferring them over more modern rigs, this manual was invaluable in the programming of my two. I now know for certain what the assorted buttons functions are, and am very grateful to have found this excellent site. Many thanks for your assistance, Tony.

Performance problems often result from little things you can find and fix yourself without tools of any kind. If the electrlclty goes off: Learn how long the power WIII be off by calling the power company. l If sewice is to be interrupted 24 hours or less, keep the freezer closed. Most food WIII stay frozen. If servtce is to be interrupted longer than 24 hours, l do this. 1. Remove all unfrozen food and store in a frozen food locker OR... 2. Place 2 Ibs. (0.9 kg] of dry ice in freezer for every cu. ft. of freezer space. This will keep frozen foods for 2 to 4 days. Wear gloves to protect your hands from dry ice burns. 3. If neither food locker storage or dry ice is available, use or can perishable food at once. The length of trme food will stay frozen depends on several factors For instance. a full freezerwill remain cold longer than a freezer partially filled. And a freezer full of meat will stay cold longer than a freezer filled with baked goods. Also, if the food still contains ice crystals, it may be safely refrozen, although the quality and flavor may be affected. Use this food as soon as convenient. If the condition of the food is poor or is in any way questionable, it is wise to dtspose of it Call Whlrlpool COOL-LINE@ service asslstance telephone number. If the compressor seems to run too long: l Is the condenser, located on the back of the freezer, free of dust and lint? l Is there enough air circulation space above and In back of the freezer? l On hot summer days or if the room is hot, the compressor will run longer to provide the correct amount of cooling l If large amounts of unfrozen food have been put Into the freezer, the compressor will run longer.
