Thanks so much for the Owner's manual for my Sony PS - FL1. I had purchased the turntable off of eBay. It came in and looked great. Packed well and appeared to be great. I balanced and aligned the tone are and hooked it up. When trying to play a record the tone are would move to the right place and just before it would drop to play it moved back off the edge of the record before touching down. I searched the net for an answer to this issue. No luck. Then I purchased the owners manual and sure enough there was a place to adjust where the stylus touched down. That adjustment solved the problem and saved me a $35 feet to have the player checked out. The manual is well written and easy to understand. It is a must have for anyone with this front loading Sony turntable.

Some years back I pruchased a Sansui G-9000. I had it cleaned up and a problem with the left channel repaired. When I got it back I hooked it up to my tape decks, turn tables, TV and it played great. The only thing I was not really satisfied with was the performance of my Graphic Equalizer. I purchased this owner's manual had poured myself a cup of coffee. The manual is well organized and written in plain language. It also contained the solution to my dissatisfaction. By using the preamp connections coupled I was able to run everything through my graphic equalizer and now enjoy the full potential of my complete system.

An excellent service for the price, however, it would also have been handy if the troubleshooter pages were included. The manual is only sent in the language of your country, thus it looks as though there are some pages missing. Otherwise highly recommended.

Creating a Rhythm Set
Adjusting the Volume (TVA/TVA Env)
For details on these settings, refer to How to Make Rhythm Set Settings (p. 71).
Alternate Pan Depth
This setting causes panning to be alternated between left and right each time a key is pressed. Higher settings will produce a greater amount of change. L or R settings will reverse the order in which the pan will alternate between left and right. For example if two rhythm tones are set to L and R respectively, the panning of the two rhythm tones will alternate each time they are played. Value: L63063R
Rhythm TVA
Tone Level (Rhythm Tone level)
Sets the volume of the rhythm tone. Use this parameter to adjust the volume balance between rhythm tones. Value: 0127
This will affect only waves whose Wave Alter Pan Sw parameter (p. 76) is ON or REV.
Rhythm TVA Env
A-Env T1 V-Sens (TVA Envelope Time 1 Velocity Sensitivity)
This allows keyboard dynamics to affect the Time 1 of the TVA envelope. If you want Time 1 to be speeded up for strongly played notes, set this parameter to a positive (+) value. If you want it to be slowed down, set this to a negative (-) value. Value: -63 +63
The volume levels of the Waves from which the rhythm tone is composed is set with the WMT14 Wave Level parameter (p. 76).
Level V-Curve (Level Velocity Curve)
You can select from seven curves that determine how keyboard playing strength will affect the volume. If you do not want the volume of the rhythm tone to be affected by the force with which you press the key, select FIXED. Value:
fig.06-036
FIXED, 17
A-Env T4 V-Sens (TVA Envelope Time 4 Velocity Sensitivity)
The parameter to use when you want key release speed to control the Time 4 value of the TVA envelope. If you want Time 4 to be speeded up for quickly released notes, set this parameter to a positive (+) value. If you want it to be slowed down, set this to a negative (-) value. Value: -63 +63

Level V-Sens (Level Velocity Sensitivity)
Set this when you want the volume of the rhythm tone to change depending on the force with which you press the keys. Set this to a positive (+) value to have the changes in rhythm tone volume increase the more forcefully the keys are played; to make the tone play more softly as you play harder, set this to a negative (-) value. Value: -63 +63
A-Env Time 14 (TVA Envelope Time 14)
Specify the TVA envelope times (Time 1 Time 4). Higher settings will lengthen the time until the next volume level is reached. (For example, Time 2 is the time over which Level 1 will change to Level 2.) Value: 0127
Tone Pan (Rhythm Tone Pan)
Sets the pan for the rhythm tone. L64 is far left, 0 is center, and 63R is far right. Value: L64063R
A-Env Level 13 (TVA Envelope Level 13)
Specify the TVA envelope levels (Level 1Level 3). These settings specify how the volume will change at each point, relative to the standard volume (the Rhythm Tone Level value specified in the TVA screen). Value:

Set the Pan for Waves comprising the rhythm tones with the Wave Pan parameter (p. 76).

Random Pan Depth
Use this parameter when you want the stereo location to change randomly each time you press a key. Higher settings will produce a greater amount of change. Value: 063
Level
This will affect only waves whose Wave Rnd Pan Sw parameter (p. 76) is ON.
