This is a awesome quality scan of the original Service Manual for Technics 8099.
Contains the circuit diagram, PCB layout, adjust/tune instructions as well.

7. GENERAL INFORMATION
7.1 DIAGNOSIS 7.1.1 TEST MODE
This unit is used together with a DAB control unit (e.g. DEH-P9000R/EW, KEH-P7950/ES, etc.). During Test mode, use the keys on the DAB control unit. All keys can be found on the remote control assembly, except the keys to enter Test mode. � Entering Test mode: Press the TA and Track Down keys simultaneously to reset the system. � Exiting Test mode: Set ACC to OFF.
- Keys used in Test mode
Left key Right key CH 1 Manual DOWN Manual UP Switches display. To receive a lower frequency block. To receive a higher frequency block. Normal display � (Press the CH1 key.) PLL IC communications checking display � (After 2 seconds or when the CH 1 key is pressed) U2729M-A communications checking display � (After 2 seconds or when the CH 1 key is pressed) Test display � (Press the CH 1 key.) CH 2 CH 3 Switches services. ARC ON/OFF Other keys are invalid. Returns to the normal display. Same as the Service UP key. Switches between ON and OFF of ARC.
