I purchased the unit from a private party and the original owners manual was not available. Having the ability to download it was extremely helpful and clarified operating the equipment immensely. Character Generator
You can enter an original title of up to 18 characters.
ACCESS MENU SCREEN

Select Dial MENU Jog Dial
Turn the Select Dial to any position except AUTO LOCK, then press the MENU Jog Dial. The Menu Screen appears.
ACCESS CHARACTER MENU

Rotate the MENU Jog Dial to move the highlight bar to �CHARACTER�, then press it.

INPUT CHARACTERS
Menu Screen Rotate the MENU Jog Dial to make the desired character blink, then press it. The selected character appears at the bottom of the screen. Repeat for additional characters (max. 18). �To select the location of the next character, rotate the MENU Jog Dial to make � BACK �or �NEXT � at the bottom of the screen blink, then press it repeatedly to move the blinking cursor underneath the desired location. Rotate the MENU Jog Dial when you are done, and the blinking cursor returns to the character grid.

Or, to erase selected characters only, first move the blinking cursor to the characters at the bottom row which you want to replace, then rotate the MENU Jog Dial to highlight � � in the top left corner, and then press it. � To display the characters you have set � �Date/Time/ Character Insert� ( pg. 17) or � Instant Titles� ( pg. 22).
� Characters may be set only in the Record-Standby mode.
