The service was quick and simple, finding the service manual easy and it appears to be the original with colour schematics. It contained the info I was after and so sorted the problem.

Note:
Mackie HR824 make extensive use of surface mount devices (SMD). Service on the HR824 must
only be undertaken by experienced service technicians with the right tools, experience and patience to perform surface mount rework when needed.
1-5. Main Parts Replacement
1-5-2. Fuse Replacement
n Fuse is critical to operating safely. Replacement with a non-authorized fuse could cause a fire or an electric shock. When replacing, use the specified parts below. Fuse : ! 9-885-004-92 (PS-580 board) Fuse(2.3A) : ! 9-885-044-77 (RE-183 board) Replacing a fuse on the PS-580 board 1. Remove the LCD panel. (For HDVF-C750W, refer to Section 1-3, while for HDVF-C700W, refer to Section 1-4.) 2. Remove the PS-580 board. (Refer to Section 1-5-1.) 3. Remove the fuse mounted on the PS-580 board and replace it. 4. Install the board in the reverse order of removal steps 1 and 2. n When fixing screws, apply locking compound * to them.
