This service manual of the old video cassette recorder VT-LC50EM is very good readable even the tiniest numbers (i.e. IC-pins). The circuits are very clear. Many details of the schematic are very good described but in GERMAN language. Many schematic details - but complete at all. Common background information of several details are enclosed and physical knowledge of the TFT liquid crystal display for example. The manual lacks PCB drawings. If you understand german I would recommend this manual for you.
1-4. Name and Functions of Switches and LEDs
S1-3 : Field frequency selection switch When switch S1-4 is selected to MANUAL, this switch is selected the field frequency. Upper : 60.00 Hz Lower : 59.94 Hz Factory setting: 59.94 Hz n When switch S1-4 is selected to AUTO, this switch is not operated even if its setting is changed. S1-4 : Field frequency mode selection switch This switch is selected the field frequency. Upper : MANUAL Lower : AUTO Factory setting : AUTO S1-5 and S1-6 : Option switches These switches are not usually used. Factory settings : All lower (OFF) positions S1-7 : AUDIO CHANNEL SELECT switch This switch is selected the channels 1 to 4 or the channels 5 to 8 of the providing audio signal. Upper : Channels 5 to 8 Lower : Channels 1 to 4 Factory setting : Channels 1 to 4 S1-8 : AUDIO DELAY selection switch The offset of the 1 frame (33.3 msec) is added to the delay amount. Upper : ON Lower : OFF Factory setting : Lower (OFF) S2 : AUDIO DELAY selection switch The delay amount (0 to 9) is changed the unit of 16 samples (333.3 usec). When this switch is selected A to F, the delay amount is fixed 157 samples (3.27 msec). When this switch is selected to 9 and S3 switch is selected D to F, the delay amount is fixed 157 samples (3.27 msec). Factory setting : 0
S3 : AUDIO DELAY selection switch The delay amount (O to F) is changed the unit of 1 sample (20.8 usec). Factory setting : O n A combination of S1-8, S2 and S3 switches, the delay amount of the digital audio signal on the video signal is selected 158 samples + 1 frame maximum. S4 : CPU reset switch This switch is initialized CPU. It is not usually used.
