I AM HIGHLY IMPRESSED BY THE EASE OF USE OF THIS DOWNLOAD SERVICE. INSTRUCTIONS ARE CLEAR AND SIMPLE TO FOLLOW....EVEN BY TECHNOPHOBES SUCH AS MYSELF. THE EMAILS POINT YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION...ITS SO EASY PEASY. THE DOWNLOAD CHOICE OF USER MANUALS IS EXTENSIVE AND I COULD NOT FIND A CHEAPER OR MORE EFFICIENT SERVICE ON THE INTERNET. B.E.S.T. takes place at the beginning of each first SP and first LP (or EP) recording after inserting the cassette.
Recording
Use the following procedure to record TV programmes on a blank video tape. Before proceeding: � To record TV programmes, the video cassette player must be connected to the TV as shown in connection B of the �Connections� on page 6 section. � Turn on the power of the TV and video cassette player. � Make sure that the video cassette�s safety tab is intact. If it has been removed, cover the hole with adhesive tape.
8 Press ¤ on the video cassette player
on the remote control press 8 to stop recording. To stop recording temporarily: 8 Press 9 . The recording indicator will blink. Press $ to resume recording. NOTES: � To engage recording standby, press 7 and then press 9. The STANDBY/REC indicator will blink during recording standby. Press $ again to start recording. � If 7 does not work, check to see if the cassette safety tab has been removed. � The player automatically stops when record-standby continues for more than 5 minutes. � The video tape will be rewound automatically when the end of the tape is reached.

B.E.S.T. picture system
The B.E.S.T. (Biconditional Equalized Signal Tracking) system checks the condition of the tape in use during recording and playback, and compensates to provide the highest possible recording and playback pictures. The default setting for both recording and playback is ��ON��.
A Load a blank video tape. B Press SP/LP/EP (p) to set the
recording speed.
Recording
The video cassette player assesses the quality of the tape once you initiate recording. 8 The player spends approximately 7 seconds assessing the condition of the tape, then begins recording.
C Press
to start recording. (On the remote control unit press 7 and $ at the same time.)
The recording indicator will light during recording.
