Thanks so much for the Owner's manual for my Sony PS - FL1. I had purchased the turntable off of eBay. It came in and looked great. Packed well and appeared to be great. I balanced and aligned the tone are and hooked it up. When trying to play a record the tone are would move to the right place and just before it would drop to play it moved back off the edge of the record before touching down. I searched the net for an answer to this issue. No luck. Then I purchased the owners manual and sure enough there was a place to adjust where the stylus touched down. That adjustment solved the problem and saved me a $35 feet to have the player checked out. The manual is well written and easy to understand. It is a must have for anyone with this front loading Sony turntable.

Some years back I pruchased a Sansui G-9000. I had it cleaned up and a problem with the left channel repaired. When I got it back I hooked it up to my tape decks, turn tables, TV and it played great. The only thing I was not really satisfied with was the performance of my Graphic Equalizer. I purchased this owner's manual had poured myself a cup of coffee. The manual is well organized and written in plain language. It also contained the solution to my dissatisfaction. By using the preamp connections coupled I was able to run everything through my graphic equalizer and now enjoy the full potential of my complete system.

An excellent service for the price, however, it would also have been handy if the troubleshooter pages were included. The manual is only sent in the language of your country, thus it looks as though there are some pages missing. Otherwise highly recommended.

General Features
Note Unless stated otherwise, all operations described use the remote control. Some features may also be available on the Setup menu.
Turn on the TV and select the video input source connected to the DVD with no label player. Audio system: Turn on the audio system and select the input source connected to the DVD player.
Moving to another TITLE

Press OPEN/CLOSE to open the disc tray. Load your chosen disc in the tray, with the label facing up. When a double-sided DVD is inserted, make sure the side you want to play is facing down. Press OPEN/CLOSE to close the tray. READING appears on the TV screen, and playback starts automatically. If playback does not start, press PLAY 2. In some cases, the disc menu might appear instead.
When a disc has more than one title, you can move to another title as follows: Press DISPLAY when playback is stopped, then press the appropriate numbered button (0-9) to select a title number.

If a menu screen is displayed
The menu screen may be displayed first after loading a DVD or Video CD which contains a menu.

Use the 1 2 3 4 buttons to select the title/chapter you want to view, then press OK to start playback. Press TITLE or DVD MENU to return to the menu screen.

When a title on a disc has more than one chapter or a disc has more than one track, you can move to another chapter/track as follows: Press SKIP/INDEX . or > briefly during playback to select the next chapter/track or to return to the beginning of the current chapter/track. Press SKIP/INDEX . twice briefly to step back to the previous chapter/track. To go directly to any chapter during DVD playback, press DISPLAY. Then, press 3/4 to select C 4 (chapter) (or for a Video CD, select T for track). Then, enter the chapter/track number using the numbered buttons (0-9). Note For two-digit numbers, press the buttons in rapid succession.
Use the number buttons to select the track you want to view. Press RETURN to return to the menu screen. Menu setting and the exact operating procedures for using the menu may differ depending on the disc. Follow the instructions on the each menu screen. You also may set PBC to Off under setup. See page 20. Notes If Parental Control is set and the disc is not within the Rating settings (not authorized), the 4-digit code must be entered and/or the disc must be authorized (see � Parental Control�, on page 21). DVDs may have a region code. Your player will not play discs that have a region code different from your player. The region code for this player is 2 (two). To watch a DVD during timer recording standby mode, press POWER and VCR/DVD to switch to DVD mode.

2 Use the SKIP/INDEX . or > to select the required speed: t 1/16, t 1/8, t 1/4 or t 1/2 (backward), or T 1/16, T 1/8, T 1/4 or T 1/2 (forward). 3 To exit slow motion mode, press PLAY 2. Note Slow motion playback in reverse is not applicable for Video CD.
