Having bought a pre-owned Sony FM stereo tuner through eBay, it came without any manuals. It soon became clear that to get the best from this excellent tuner I needed a decent manual because much of the operation was not intuitive to a newboy to hi fi like me. I managed to download the official Sony multi-lingual manual from Owner-Manuals.com with no problem at all - a really quick and easy service. I'm very glad I did because I found out all the operations of the tuner and was then able to not only set it up quickly but also to get much more from it that poke-and-hope trialling would ever achieve. In my book $4.99 very well spent.

Beleuchtungsschaltung
Wenn die Beleuchtungsschaltung auf AUTO eingestellt ist, wird die Beleuchtung des IVA-M700R/ CVA-1005R schwächer, wenn Sie das Standlicht des Fahrzeugs einschalten. Die Einstellung AUTO empfiehlt sich, wenn die Hintergrundbeleuchtung des Bildschirms nachts als zu hell empfunden wird. Drehen Sie den Zündschlüssel, unmittelbar nachdem Sie Namen eingegeben oder die Einstellungen des Initialisierungs- oder Anzeigemodus geändert haben und während das System die Daten noch automatisch einliest, nicht in die Position OFF. Andernfalls wird der Name nicht gespeichert bzw. werden die Einstellungen nicht geändert.

Drücken Sie die SOURCE-Taste. Das Hauptmenü erscheint auf dem Bildschirm.
Drücken Sie Taste 5 (DISPLAY). Die Bildschirmmodus-Anzeige erscheint.

OFF ON AUTO
Drehen Sie am Drehschalter und wählen Sie "DIMMER". Die Symbolleiste erscheint auf dem Bildschirm.
� Drücken Sie Taste 3 (AUTO), um automatische Beleuchtungsschaltung zu wählen. Die Hintergrundbeleuchtung des Bildschirms wird nun beim Einschalten der Fahrzeugbeleuchtung abgedunkelt (die Dimmer-Zuleitung mu� angeschlossen sein). � Mit Taste 1 (OFF) können Sie die automatische Beleuchtungsschaltung deaktivieren und ein "stets helles" Bild wählen. � Mit Taste 2 (ON) können Sie die automatische Beleuchtungsschaltung deaktivieren und ein "stets dunkles" Bild wählen. Drücken Sie nach beendeter Einstellung die Taste FUNC (RETURN). Das Hauptmenü erscheint dabei wieder auf dem Bildschirm.
