Having bought a pre-owned Sony FM stereo tuner through eBay, it came without any manuals. It soon became clear that to get the best from this excellent tuner I needed a decent manual because much of the operation was not intuitive to a newboy to hi fi like me. I managed to download the official Sony multi-lingual manual from Owner-Manuals.com with no problem at all - a really quick and easy service. I'm very glad I did because I found out all the operations of the tuner and was then able to not only set it up quickly but also to get much more from it that poke-and-hope trialling would ever achieve. In my book $4.99 very well spent.

Nierencharakteristik. Ist am empfindlichsten für Schall direkt von vorne und hat geringste Empfindlichkeit für Schall von hinten. Die Nierencharakteristik ist die häufigste Einstellung für Live-Beschallungen. Die etwas breitere Abnahmecharakteristik eignet sich besser für die Abnahme au�eraxialer Schallquellen. Siehe Abbildung 3. Superniere. Die schmälere Richtcharakteristik bietet bessere Unterdrückung au�eraxialer Schallquellen und maximale Rückkopplungssicherheit. Die Supernierencharakteristik ist ideal für laute Umgebungen oder Beschallungen, bei denen mehrere Tonquellen in unmittelbarer Nähe voneinander liegen. Siehe Abbildung 5. Phantomspeisung Das Modell KSM9 benötigt Phantomspeisung. Die optimale Leistung wird bei einer Speisung mit 48 V Gleichspannung erzielt (IEC-268-15/DIN 45 596). Das Mikrofon funktioniert ebenfalls - allerdings mit leicht verringerter Leistungsreserve und Empfindlichkeit - bei einer Phantomspannung von nur 11 V DC. Impedanz Zum Zwecke maximaler Signalverarbeitung und minimaler Verzerrung sollte eine Abschlussimpedanz von mindestens 800 Ohm verwendet werden. Die Impedanz kann bis auf 150 Ohm verringert werden; dies führt allerdings zu einer Verringerung des Ausgangspegels und des Maximalpegels.
