The service was quick and simple, finding the service manual easy and it appears to be the original with colour schematics. It contained the info I was after and so sorted the problem.
I have copied it to CD and attached the envelope to the inside back cover of the owners manual. Good manual and excelent service. Robin Wood, Wood Electronics, New Zealand.

MACKIE HR824 26 pages English-only Service Manual contains:
1) HR824 technical overview with the description of front and rear panel switches.
2) HR824 specs
3) Block Diagram
4) Wiring Diagram
5) Packaging management
6) Spare part & final assembly list (for PCB rev A and B) + exploded view
7) Test Procedures (where, how to measure voltage...) including Test Point diagram on the PCB.
8) IC and Transistor charts.
Excellent guide: very clear, good scan quality enabling us to print readable diagram :-)
Note:
Mackie HR824 make extensive use of surface mount devices (SMD). Service on the HR824 must
only be undertaken by experienced service technicians with the right tools, experience and patience to perform surface mount rework when needed.

This Service manual is very well scanned and its clean to read, no any anti-theft words that un-english could understand. I got my CCD600 working with this manual and it´s clear shematics :)

Azione: Rimuovere il materiale estraneo. 5. Il rullo di fissaggio superiore è danneggiato o usurato. Azione: Sostituire il rullo di fissaggio superiore. 6. Lo specchio dell�unità scanner/laser è sporco. Azione: Sostituire l�unità scanner/laser.
II-12. Righe bianche orizzontali
<Cause possibili>
1. Graffi orizzontali sul tamburo fotosensibile. Azione: Sostituire la cartuccia. 2. Il rullodi fissaggio superiore è difettoso. Azione: Sostituire il rullo di fissaggio superiore.
II-13. Fissaggio scarso
<Cause possibili>
1. La leva di posizione buste dell�unità di fissaggio è sollevata. Azione: Abbassare la leva. 2. L�ampiezza di bloccaggio dell�unità di fissaggio non è corretta. Azione: Sostituire l�unità di fissaggio. 3. La superficie del rullo di fissaggio è danneggiata o usurata. Azione: Sostituire il rullo. 4. Il rullo di fissaggio inferiore è sporco. Azione: Pulire il rullo. Se fosse impossibile pulirlo, sostituirlo. 5. Il termistore è deteriorato. Azione: Sostituire il termistore.
II-14. Distorsione dell�immagine
<Cause possibili>
1. I connettori sulla PCB del DC controller sono allentati. Azione: Ricollegare appropriatamente J202, J206 e J207. 2. I connettori dell�unità scanner/laser sono allentati. Azione: Ricollegare J1001, J1 e J6. 3. L�unità scanner/laser è guasta. Azione: Sostituire l�unità scanner/laser. 4. La PCB del DC controller è difettosa. Azione: Sostituire la PCB del DC controller.
