I Recently purchased yet another Service Manual from Owner-Manuals.com, this time for a Sony EVS700ES/UB Videocassette Recorder. The Manual was available for upload within two hours and is an Extremely Good copy, as some of this I was able to enlarge to get even better detail.
Once Again, Very happy with the result!

Viewing the Self Check Diagnostic List 1. TV must be in standby mode. (Power off). 2. Press the following buttons on the Remote Commander within a second of each other: DISPLAY Channel 5 The Self Check list displays. Volume + TV POWER . This is the SAME as accessing Service Adjustments.
Results for all of the following diagnostic items are displayed at the bottom of the screen. No error has occurred if the screen displays a �0�.
