Troubleshooting
WARNING Do not open the system as there is a risk of electric shock! Under no circumstances should you try to repair the system yourself, as this will invalidate the warranty ¶ If a fault occurs, first check the points listed below before taking the system for repair. ¶ If you are unable to remedy a problem by following these hints, consult your dealer or service center.

Symptom
CD PLAYER OPERATION �NO DISC� is displayed.
Remedy
¶ Check if the disc is inserted upside down. ¶ Wait until the moisture condensation at the lens has cleared. ¶ Use a finalized CD-R(W). ¶ Replace or clean the disc, see Maintenance. ¶ The signal is too weak, adjust the antenna or connect an external antenna for better reception. ¶ Increase the distance from TV or VCR. ¶ Clean deck parts, see Maintenance. ¶ Use only NORMAL (IEC I) tape for recording. ¶ Apply a piece of adhesive tape over the missing tab space. ¶ Reconnect the AC power plug and switch on the system again. ¶ Press STANDBY ON to switch off the system. Remove the AC power plug from the wall outlet, then reconnect the power plug and switch on the system again. ¶ Adjust the volume. ¶ Disconnect the headphones. ¶ Check that the speakers are connected correctly. ¶ Check if the stripped speaker wire is clamped. ¶ Check the speaker connections and location. ¶ Select the source (CD, TUNER, etc.) before pressing the function button (Ã�,Ã,ë, etc.). ¶ Reduce the distance to the system. ¶ Insert the batteries with their polarities (+/- signs) as indicated. ¶ Replace the batteries. ¶ Set the clock. ¶ Press TIMER ONâ�¢OFF to switch on the timer. ¶ If recording is in progress, stop recording.
RADIO RECEPTION Poor radio reception.
TAPE DECK OPERATION Recording or playback cannot be made. �CHECK TAPE� is displayed. Tape deck door cannot open. GENERAL Does not react when any buttons is pressed.
No or poor sound.
Reversed left and right sound. Remote control does not function properly.
Timer is not working.
