I found the manual to be clear concise and complete. It was of immense assistance when removing the unit as the unit was over 22 years old and the wiring diagram was unobtainable from the manufacturer. The exploded drawings were clear as were the instructions and labels.

3-3. How to Start the Disk-Based Diagnostics
1. Insert a diagnostics FD disk media into the FDD bay and turn on the main power of the computer to boot the computer from a diagnostics disk. 2. When the computer starts up, the following message appears. Insert PCGA-PRF1 Diagnostics CD-ROM Then insert the diagnostics CD-ROM media into the CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive. 3. The following top menu appears. PCGA-PRF1 Diagnostics program Version 1.0 Copyright (c) Sony Corporation 1999. Top Menu 1. PCGA-PRF1 Diagnostics 2. Exit menu Select menu: Each diagnostics can be executed independently from the PCGA-PRF1 Diagnostics. Select item 2 to exit the self-diagnostics. All rights reserved.
