The service was quick and simple, finding the service manual easy and it appears to be the original with colour schematics. It contained the info I was after and so sorted the problem.
I have copied it to CD and attached the envelope to the inside back cover of the owners manual. Good manual and excelent service. Robin Wood, Wood Electronics, New Zealand.

MACKIE HR824 26 pages English-only Service Manual contains:
1) HR824 technical overview with the description of front and rear panel switches.
2) HR824 specs
3) Block Diagram
4) Wiring Diagram
5) Packaging management
6) Spare part & final assembly list (for PCB rev A and B) + exploded view
7) Test Procedures (where, how to measure voltage...) including Test Point diagram on the PCB.
8) IC and Transistor charts.
Excellent guide: very clear, good scan quality enabling us to print readable diagram :-)
Note:
Mackie HR824 make extensive use of surface mount devices (SMD). Service on the HR824 must
only be undertaken by experienced service technicians with the right tools, experience and patience to perform surface mount rework when needed.

This Service manual is very well scanned and its clean to read, no any anti-theft words that un-english could understand. I got my CCD600 working with this manual and it´s clear shematics :)

* View the moving images. If a screen is darker than the others due to excessive ABL, increase the contrast and decrease the R, G, B High Light so that ABL is suppressed. (e) White peak images (FRAME NO.08272) Readjust the Linear White adjustment, if the whiteness on the white peak screen differed on each screen.
6.6.5 Adjust the focus VR
In some cases, the left side of the screen may become greenish. This can be corrected by adjusting the B focus of the focus VR slightly deviated from the just focus position.
7 Confirm the moving images
View the moving images. If W/B is incorrect, set to rough adjustment. If the luminance of the multi-screen is dark or inconsistent, set the ABL switch.
R.G B
7 Precautions 7 Avoid adjusting with images with high tube radiation (FRAME NO. 13590)
If only one spot is bright in a very dark image, the screen will look bright due to the spot. Adjusting Method Adjust the B focus VR so that B is at the just focus position on the screen. While observing the left side of the screen, rotate the B focus VR in the clockwise direction (about 10 degree), and adjust so that B is 1.2 to 1.5 times the other colors from the just focus point. After adjusting, adjust the convergence and white balance again.
7 Precautions on screen hue
If the hue of the screens is green or yellow, images will not be displayed clearly. The white parts of bright images especially will appear yellow. These images can be made clear by adjusting so that they appear slightly bluish. However, if made bluish excessively, brightness may appear insufficient due to the CRT characteristics.
7 Color Adjustment (White Balance)
(a)Effects of brightness Take note of dark images which have some high luminance parts. The reflected light overlap with surrounding dark parts at the face of the CRT and surface of projection lens, and luminance and hue become different from the adjoining screen. (b)Differences caused by visual points Although the joined parts of multiple screens are improved by peripheral light amount correction, the image may not be natural at some points. (Adjustment of vertical direction using the installation table) Due to the layout of the red, green, and blue CRTs, when the screens are viewed diagonally, they may appear reddish or bluish (Color shift). For multiple screens, as the angles of the left and right screens are different to a viewer, they may appear to have different colors. Before adjustments, check the user's visual point, and adjust at that point.
