Having purchased a 1994 Kenwood music system from a Charity shop in 2013 (it was a high end product in its day), I found myself not quite knowing where to plug in what, and how to do this, that and the next thing. I needed a Manual, and after failure with another online 'Manual provider' I found Owner Manuals dot com. Well, I wasn't sure, but it was only $5, and if things didn't work out, I wouldn't have lost much...
But things DID work out. After paying my childrens inheritance money, $4.99, I was sent a Manual for my Kenwood System very quickly. Alas, it was in German, and being Scottish, I could not read it or get my system in order from it...a rapid email to them brought the English Manual in short order, and my retro-system was and IS up and running in it's regulation settings.
I am very grateful to http://www.owner-manuals.com for their quick service and for even having such an obsolete Manual in the first place! If you need a Manual for ANYTHING, try here first. I wouldn't be surprised if I bought a 1928 Marconi radio, and got the user Manual for THAT here too!

Activating the Sub-Room Front Speakers
This section is NOT applicable to those who connect the subroom front speakers to the SUB ROOM PREOUT jacks using another amplifier (see page 17). Before you start, remember... � When shipped from the factory, both pairs of the front speakers have been set to be used in the main room. To use the front speakers connected to the FRONT 2/SUB ROOM SPEAKERS terminals in the sub-room, see �Preparing for the Sub-Room Operations�SUB ROOM� on page 40.
Muting the Sub-Room Sound
From the remote control ONLY:
Press MUTING to mute the sound through the sub-room front speakers.

The volume level indicator goes off.
SPEAKERS 2 / SUB ROOM
Press SPEAKERS 2/SUB ROOM to activate the sub-room front speakers.
The SUB ROOM speaker indicator lights up on the display.
To restore the sound, press MUTING again so that the volume level indicator appears on the display. � Turning MASTER VOLUME on the unit or pressing VOLUME +/� on the remote control also restores the sound.

To deactivate the sub-room front speakers, press SPEAKERS 2/SUB ROOM again. The SUB ROOM speaker indicator goes off.
Note:
Sounds through the sub-room speakers connected to the SUB ROOM PREOUT jacks are also muted.

If the center speaker or surround speakers are used for the Surround/ DSP mode (see pages 46 and 50) for the main room operations, the SPEAKERS 2/SUB ROOM button does not work.
For those who connect the sub-room front speakers to the SUB ROOM PREOUT jacks using another amplifier (see page 17). You have to determine how to adjust the volume level through the sub-room front speakers. (See �Preparing for the Sub-Room Operations�SUB ROOM� on page 40 for more details.) To use the sub-room front speakers 1 Turn on the other amplifier connected to the SUB ROOM PREOUT jacks. 2 Adjust the volume level of sub-room front speakers either on the other amplifier or on this receiver (depending on the SUB PREOUT setting on the SUB ROOM submenu).
