CHAPTER 5 TROUBLESHOOTING
11. After Replacing the Back-Up ROM 1) Turn off the copier, and set the DIP switch on the Sorter controller PCB to back-up ROM clear mode.

Figure 5-121 2) Turn on the copier. 3) Press the Front Access key, Staple Mode key, Bin Shift UP key, and Bin Shift DOWN key at the same time so that the back-up ROM will be cleared. 4) Make the adjustments shown in Table 5-101. 12. Replacing the Sorter Controller PCB (to accommodate E501) 1) Remove the back-up ROM from the new PCB. (Do not throw away the ROM at this time.) 2) Turn off the copier. 3) Remove the back-up ROM from the old PCB, and install it to the socket of the new PCB. 4) Remove the old PCB from the sorter, and install the new PCB to the sorter. 5) Turn on the copier. If the copier does not indicate '501', end the procedure. 6) If the copier indicates 'E501', suspect a fault in the back-up ROM. Turn off the copier, and replace the old back-up ROM installed to the new PCB with the new back-up ROM. 7) Perform the steps indicated for after replacing the back-up ROM.
