I was very pleased with the manual I got for my amateur (ham) radio. Without it I could not figure out how to input and/or change the P/L setting on my radio. It drove me nuts as the radio was essentially useless. That all changed when my manual came. Then it took only minutes and I was done. Now my radio works fine. You can fine-adjust DSP modes more minutely by changing three parameters�room, liveness, and reverberation. Before you start, remember... � There is a time limit in doing the following steps. If the setting is canceled before you finish, start from step 2 again.

To adjust the output level for the rear speakers 1) Press SOUND repeatedly until �REAR� SOUND appears on the display.
� Each time you press the button, the indication on the display changes as follows:
ROOM : To adjust the resonance based on the room size. The larger this value is, the more effective the resonance is (from 04 to 16 by 2 steps). LIVE (Liveness) : To adjust the liveness. The larger this value is, the more liveness is obtained (from 04 to 16 by 2 steps). REVERB (Reverberation) : To adjust the reverberation time of the sound (from 0.0 msec to 1.6 msec by 0.2 msec steps). � The following diagram shows the �DEFAULT (initial)� settings of the DSP sound parameters for each DSP mode. Pressing EFFECT to adjust overall level of DSP effect will change your fine-adjustments to the fixed level.
