Wellll again thank you very much fast and effective. Clear and well done for such an old TV!!!!
 ;
It has all the information you will need to fix it. The main circuit diagram is only A4 but being a PDF, you can print it to any size - I did it on two sheets of A3 and it didnt lose any detail - just made it readable when pinned up above the bench. I've found the fault, just need to buy some obscure bits to get it going again!
I cant fault the process, I paid for the manual in the morning and it was ready to download by lunch time.

Very good copy in a 54 pages PDF archive. This is my sixth purchase here. :)

Another excellent buy! File too clear and explanatory.

A manual hard to find. It was very helpful to restore my device.
TX-DS494/HT-R490 ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES
IDLING CURRENT ADJUSTMENT
1. Before Idling adjustment, turn the trimming resistors R573, R574, R673, R674 and R1532 to counter clockwise. 2. Connect the DC voltmeter to sockets P511,P512, P611, P612 and P1511. 3. After turn POWER to ON, adjust the trimming resistors R573, R574, R673, R674 and R1532 so that the reading of voltmeter becomes 2.4 to 2.6 mV. 4. After adjustment, attach the top cover. 5. Confirm the voltage of above points after five minutes. 6. When 3.1 mV to 6.4 mV : Readjust the trimming resistors above so that the voltage becomes 6.5 to 6.7 mV. When 6.5 mV to 7.5 mV : It is not necessary to adjust. When 7.6 mV to 13 mV : Readjust the trimming resistors above so that the voltage becomes 7.5 to 7.7 mV.
