I want to give you a real heads-up for your desire to enable such people as I to acquire the information I need to maintain the older types of equipment such as this Akai HXA351W. You do a swell job with all the processes you have to perform so I can have a legible, thus usable
document which does not send me crazy trying to figure out the blurry text of a bad copy.

This manual is very well presented and after printing out looks about as close to an original as I think you can get. The quality is second to none.
The content of the manual is comprehensive and I think it would be well suited to an audio repair professional which I'm not but I did find it very informative and helpful.
The cost of the manual is more than covered by the money I'll save when I change the keep memory battery now I have the relavant info.
Very pleased with my purchase and can recommend it wholeheartedly as I can other manuals I've downloaded from this site.

1 STANDBY button
This button is used to set the unit to Standby.
[ DSP] & [DSP ] buttons
These buttons are used to select the Onkyo original DSP (digital signal processor) listening modes.
2 ON button
This button is used to turn on the unit.
13 TEST TONE, CH SEL, LEVEL- & LEVEL+ buttons
These buttons are used to adjust the level of each speaker individually.
3 Input selector buttons
These buttons are used to select the input sources.
4 MULTI CH button
This button is used to select the multichannel DVD input.
14 L NIGHT button
This button is used to set the Late Night function.
5 TONE, [-] & [+] buttons
These buttons are used to adjust the bass and treble.
15 REMOTE MODE buttons
These buttons are used to select the remote controller modes. When you use the remote controller, the mode button for the currently selected mode lights up.
6 DIMMER button
This button is used to adjust the display brightness.
16 SLEEP button
This button is used to set the Sleep function.
7 Arrow [ ]/[ ]/[ ]/[ ] & ENTER button
This button is used to select and adjust settings.
17 VOL button
This button is used to set the volume of the unit.
8 CH +/- button
This button is used to select radio presets.
18 SETUP button
This button is used to access various settings.
9 RETURN button
This button is used to return to the previous screen when changing settings.
19 MUTING button
This button is used to mute the unit.
10 DISPLAY button
This button is used to display various information about the currently selected input source.
20 CINE FLTR button
This button is used to set the CinemaFILTER function.
11 SP A & SP B buttons
These buttons are used to turn on and off speaker sets A and B.
12 Listening mode buttons
SURR button
This button is used to select the Dolby and DTS listening modes.
ALL ST button
This button is used to select the All Ch Stereo listening mode.
STEREO button
This button is used to select the Stereo listening mode.
PURE A button (not American model)
This button is used to select the Pure Audio listening mode. In this mode, the display and internal video circuitry are turned off, minimizing the possibility of interference, for a high fidelity sound that's true to the original. (No video signals are output in this mode.)
DIRECT button
This button is used to select the Direct listening mode.
