Some of the pictures in this manual are a bit irritating. I had to dissassemble the unit and some of the screws have different threads, which is not mentioned in this manual. Also some of the drawings of the boards look different than the actual boards.
After all, the manual was very useful. I was able to recalibrate the capstan drive and it is working fine again.

This manual is very good. 303 pages scanned in a very high resolution. My camera has bad, leaking capacitors which all of the V5000 models are suffering from these days.
There is a huge part list with all capacitors, transistors etc. in this manual which helped me a lot. Otherwise I would not have been able to buy replacement parts.
The dissassembly guide is very enormous and detailed. Unlike on the Panasonic MS1 manual I downloaded here it actually looks like the real parts look. And the screws are labeled correctly, so you shouldn't have any left after the repair. ;)

Countermeasure
The subject is too bright. Move the camera further away from the light box. The subject is too dark. Check the light box. Move the camera closer to the light box.
When adjusting the auto focus
AF ERROR 1) If this error message appears even when the adjustment is performed 2 or 3 times, the autofocus circuit system is defective. 2) Refer to �(4) No zoom and focus operation� on �4-1-2 Trouble Diagnosis Flowchart�. 1) Check the conditions of subject. 2) If this error message appears even when the adjustment is performed 2 or 3 times, the autofocus circuit system is defective. 3) Refer to �(6) No focus lens operation� on �4-1-2 Trouble Diagnosis Flowchart�. 1) Check the conditions of subject. 2) If this error message appears even when the adjustment is performed 2 or 3 times, the autofocus circuit system is defective. 3) Refer to �(4) No zoom and focus operation� on �4-1-2 Trouble Diagnosis Flowchart�. 1) If this error message appears even when the adjustment is performed 2 or 3 times, the autofocus circuit system is defective. 2) Refer to �(7) No zoom operation� on �4-1-2 Trouble Diagnosis Flowchart�. 1) Insufficient lighting. When adjusting the spot noise
1) Spot noise compensation is inhibited by the data in the EEPROM. 2) Turn the power on again. 3) Data in the EEPROM is defective. (data Initialize it.) 4) Check the EEPROM, and if necessary, replace it. 1) The amount of spot noise that can be compensated reaches the limit. 2) Turn the power on again. 3) Check the image sensor, and if necessary, replace it. 1) Turn the power on again. 2) Data in the EEPROM is defective. (data Initialize it.) 3) Check the EEPROM, and if necessary, replace it.
