Probably it never existed a 1081 official service manual from Commodore, it's look more like a NAPCEC service manual & diagrams compilation of the 1084 series and his variants, like the nap6523, 8cm505, 1084S, 1084P and obviously the 1081. It's more complete than other scans and the quality of the scans also are far superior. It has two circuit diagrams variants of the 1081, mono and stereo versions. It doesn't include a diagram for the Philips CM8500 or CM8501, they look like the 1081 but they are slightly different.

I work at an authorized service center and I can tell if a manual is as it should be. This one is. It may be a scan, but a very good one at that. The interesting part for me was the curcuit diagram which was scanned at high quality, making it as good as the original. I will definitely be back as a customer. I need not say this, but I will: the price was the best. Thank you owner-manuals.com .

1 MULTI CONTROL function buttons
Use to set and operate the MULTI CONTROL.
2 TUNER button
Use to set the TUNER function.
5.1 CH: Use to turn ON/OFF the 5.1 CH INPUT mode. TEST TONE: When turned ON (while in surround mode), volume balance adjustment signals are output in order from the speakers and can be adjusted. CENTER MODE: Switches the center mode (only when setting the Dolby Pro Logic). DELAY TIME: Use to set the delay time (only when setting the Dolby Pro Logic). SW LEVEL �/+: Adjusts the sub woofer level. REAR R. LEVEL �/+: Adjusts the rear level (R channel). REAR L. LEVEL �/+: Adjusts the rear level (L channel). CENTER LEVEL �/+: Adjusts the center level. EFFECT �/+: Adjusts DSP effects.
3 SURROUND button
Press when performing surround operations.
- MUTING button
Press to mute the volume.
4 PRO LOGIC button
Use to turn ON/OFF the DOLBY PRO LOGIC surround.
= DSP MODE button
Switches the surround effects.
5 PRESET button
To preset other brand devices, press any one of the MULTI CONTROL function buttons together with this button.
~ MASTER VOLUME �/+ buttons
Use to adjust the volume.
! DIRECT button
Use to play back sound without going through the tone and balance control circuits. DOLBY PRO LOGIC, DSP MODE, 5-D THEATER, DOLBY VIRTUAL/SRS and LOUDNESS also turn off.
6 VIRTUAL button
Use to switch the VIRTUAL/SRS mode.
7 RECEIVER
(power) STANDBY/ON button
@ 5-D THEATER button
Use to turn ON/OFF the 5-D THEATER mode.
