I AM HIGHLY IMPRESSED BY THE EASE OF USE OF THIS DOWNLOAD SERVICE. INSTRUCTIONS ARE CLEAR AND SIMPLE TO FOLLOW....EVEN BY TECHNOPHOBES SUCH AS MYSELF. THE EMAILS POINT YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION...ITS SO EASY PEASY. THE DOWNLOAD CHOICE OF USER MANUALS IS EXTENSIVE AND I COULD NOT FIND A CHEAPER OR MORE EFFICIENT SERVICE ON THE INTERNET. I COULD NOT HAVE MADE A BETTER CHOICE OF INFORMATION PROVIDER. SHOULD I EVER NEED ANOTHER USER MANUAL, THEN THIS IS THE FIRST CHOICE SITE. Preparations Component input 1 setting
Tells the receiver which device (DVD player, etc.) is connected to this input.
Optical digital input 1 setting
Here you tell the receiver what component you have hooked up to the optical input jack 1.
Press % or � to select the component setting (DVD, TV, VCR or OFF).
MEMO: � The initial setting is �DVD�.
Press % or � to select the optical digital input 1 (DVD, TV, CD, CD-R, VCR, or OFF).
After you assign a component to this digital jack whenever you select that component, for example a CD player, the receiver will automatically change to the digital input setting. You can see this in the DIGITAL/ANALOG indicator on the front of the receiver. MEMO: � The initial setting is �CD�.
Component input 2 setting
Tells the receiver which device (TV, etc.) is connected to this input.
Press % or � to select the component setting (TV, VCR, OFF or DVD).
MEMO: � The initial setting is �TV�.

Multi Channel External Decoder Surround Back ch1/ch2 setting (VSXD810S only)
You only need to make this setting if you are using a multi channel external decoder with your DVD player. If you aren�t just ignore this setting.

Press % or � to select the channel setting. Select ch1 if your DVD is outputting 6.1 sound (the surround back channel is mono) or select ch2 if your DVD is outputting 7.1 sound (the surround back channel is stereo).
