I was having a hard time finding the problem with this Mackie 1604 unit. I didn't have a schematic. Went looking on the web and found your site and the price was more then reasonable. This is a service manual in every sense of the word ( French and German versions of the text are included, as well as English..)
There are explanations of the mechanical and electrical functions, plenty of mechanical drawings, and the needed schematics. The quality of the scanning is excellent - all the component values are clearly legible - and very usefully there are pcb component layouts, so you can find a component on the schematic, and then very quicky pinpoint its physical location on the relevant pcb.
I cannot see how I can give this manual any less than the maximum 5 stars! Great value for money, which will pay for itself immediately. Excellent all round!
KAPITEL 1.ALLGEMEINE BESCHREIBUNG [1] SICHERHEITSHINWEISE ZUM WARTUNGSHANDBUCH
Beim Austausch und bei der Wartung des Laserabnehmers zu beachtende Vorsichtsma�nahmen.
Der AEL-Wert (Accessible Emission Level) der Laserausgangsleistung dieses Modells unterschreitet die für Geräte der Klasse 1 festgelegten Anforderungen. Bei Wartungsarbeiten müssen jedoch die folgenden Vorsichtsma�nahmen ergriffen werden, um zu vermeiden, dass Ihre Augen dem Laserstrahl ausgesetzt werden.
1) Wenn bei entfernten Gehäusedeckeln die Stromversorgung eingeschaltet wird, ohne dass eine CD eingelegt ist, und der Abnehmer sich in einer Position au�erhalb der Eintastposition befindet, leuchtet der Laser mehrere Sekunden lang auf. Blicken Sie nicht in die Abnehmerlinse. 2) Die Laserausgangsleistung des Abnehmers im Inneren der Einheit sowie die Austauschkomponenten wurden bereits vor dem Versand justiert. 3) Beim Austausch bzw. bei der Wartung des Abnehmers sollte nicht versucht werden, die Laserleistung einzustellen. 4) Schauen Sie niemals direkt in die Abnehmerlinse. 5) VORSICHT - Die Verwendung von Steuerelementen oder Justierungen oder das Durchführen von anderen als den hierin genannten Verfahren kann gefährliche Strahlung frei setzen.
