I PURHASED THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY CDR20 HARMAN KARDON RECORDER. WHICH I PURCHASED NEW 12 YEARS AGO. AFTER REVIEWING THE MANUAL, I WAS ABLE TO ADJUST THE TENSIONER IN THE SYSTEM. WORKS LIKE A CHAMP!.
SAVED ME AT LEAST 100.00 WHICH WAS WHAT A SERVICE REPAIR STATION WANTED. GREAT MANUAL EASY TO READ. SPECIALLY AFTER I PRINTED THE PAGES WHICH DEALT WITH MY RECORDER. THANKS A LOT!!!!!!!!

I have never bought a service manual which is as competely readable as this althogh it was a scanned pdf. Thank you for this succesful manual also cheaper than other sites.
ADJUSTMENT
1. Clock Adjustment Settings : � Test point : TP2 (OSC) � Adjustment location : L901 Method : Set to AM 530kHz <YU,YL,AHA>,AM 531kHz <AK,AEZ> and adjust L901 so that the test point becomes 1.0MHz ± 1kHz. 2. AM VT Check Settings : � Test point : TP1 (VT) Method : Set to AM 530kHz <YU,YL,AHA>,AM 531kHz <AK,AEZ> and check that the test point is 1.0V ± 0.5V. Then set to AM 1600kHz <YU,YL,AHA>,AM 1602kHz <AK,AEZ> and check that the test point is 6.5V ± 1.0V. 3. AM Tracking Adjustment Settings : � Test point : TP8 (Lch), TP9 (Rch) � Adjustment location : ANT801 (Bar Antenna) ....... 600kHz <YU,YL,AHA> ANT801 (Bar Antenna) ............... 603kHz <AK,AEZ> TC801 ................................ 1400kHz <YU,YL,AHA> TC801 ........................................1404kHz <AK,AEZ> *Repeat this adjustment a few times until the wave shap has the maximum amplitude. 4. AM IF Adjustment Settings : � Test point : TP8 (Lch), TP9 (Rch) � Adjustment location : L806 ................................................................ 450kHz 5. FM VT Adjustment. Settings : � Test point : TP1 (VT) � Adjustment location : L805 Method : Set to FM 108.0MHz and adjust L805 so that the test point becomes 7.0V ± 0.2V. Then set to FM 87.5MHz and check that the test point is 1.5V ± 0.1V. 6. FM Tracking Adjustment Settings : � Test point : TP3 (FM-IF) � Adjustment location : L804 Method : Set to FM 98.0MHz and adjust L804 so that the test point is maximum and distortion is minimum. 7. FM Separation Check Settings : � Test point : PHONES (J701) � Volume : MAX � Input level : 60dB, 1kHz Method : Set to FM 98.0MHz and check that the test point is more than 17dB. 8. Mono Distortion Check Settings : � Test point : PHONES (J701) � Volume : MAX � Input level : 60dB, 1kHz Method : Set to FM 98.0MHz and check that the distortion at the test point is less than 3.0%.
