This GRUNDIG UV5A Owner Manual is not only an instruction manual but a total functional circuit description of the Multimeter and includes circuit diagram at the end pages. It is very helpful for repairing and calibrating the instrument. It is written in two languages English and German for international support. It was very easy to repair my unit with this document. Battery indicator The battery indicator shows the amount of remaining power in the batteries.
The F (green) indicator may not light up even if the batteries are recharged until the battery indicators go out, depending on the conditions of use. Time to recharcre the batteries When the batte~ indicator changes from M (orange) to E (red), it is time to recharge the batteries. If the unit remains in use after E (red) lights, �Lo batt� is displayed and the unit stops. In this case, recharge the batteries. When battery operation time becomes shorter In the following cases, even if the batteries are recharged until the battery indicators go out, operation time is short: q This is the first time the batteries have been used after purchase. q The batteries had power remaining before recharging. q The batteries have not been used for a long time. In these cases, please use the batteries until they have no remaining power before recharging again. After several cycles of use, the batteries can be fully charged. Hint for recharging To prevent the battery operation time becoming shorter, use the batteries once a month until the unit stops. When recharging does not start Check the following. q Are the batteries inserted in the unit? q Are the rechargeable batteries inserted in the unit? If you try to recharge the batteries other than the nickel-cadmium ones, recharging does not start. Be sure to use the size AA rechargeable batteries for recharging.
