Thanks so much for the Owner's manual for my Sony PS - FL1. I had purchased the turntable off of eBay. It came in and looked great. Packed well and appeared to be great. I balanced and aligned the tone are and hooked it up. When trying to play a record the tone are would move to the right place and just before it would drop to play it moved back off the edge of the record before touching down. I searched the net for an answer to this issue. No luck. Then I purchased the owners manual and sure enough there was a place to adjust where the stylus touched down. That adjustment solved the problem and saved me a $35 feet to have the player checked out. The manual is well written and easy to understand. It is a must have for anyone with this front loading Sony turntable.
 G-9000 SANSUI Owner's Manual by Laurence White;
Some years back I pruchased a Sansui G-9000. I had it cleaned up and a problem with the left channel repaired. When I got it back I hooked it up to my tape decks, turn tables, TV and it played great. The only thing I was not really satisfied with was the performance of my Graphic Equalizer. I purchased this owner's manual had poured myself a cup of coffee. The manual is well organized and written in plain language. It also contained the solution to my dissatisfaction. By using the preamp connections coupled I was able to run everything through my graphic equalizer and now enjoy the full potential of my complete system.

An excellent service for the price, however, it would also have been handy if the troubleshooter pages were included. The manual is only sent in the language of your country, thus it looks as though there are some pages missing. Otherwise highly recommended.

The tuner can receive both FM and AM broadcasts, and lets you memorize your favorite stations so you don�t have to manually tune in every time you want to listen. � Auto tuning: Press and hold TUNE +/� until the frequency display starts to move, then release. The tuner will stop on the next station it finds. Repeat to search for other stations. � High-speed tuning: Press and hold TUNE +/� until the frequency display starts to move rapidly. Keep the button held down until you reach the frequency you want. If necessary, fine tune the frequency using the manual tuning method.

Note � If you find that you can�t accurately tune in to radio stations, the frequency step setting may not be right for your country or region. See Frequency step setting on page 121 for how to change it.

Improving poor FM reception
TUNE + SYSTEM SETUP ST � ST +

If you�re listening to an FM station in stereo but the reception is weak, you can improve the sound quality by switching to mono. 1 While listening to an FM radio station press

SHIFT and SYSTEM SETUP. 2 Use the / (cursor left/right) buttons to choose �FM Mode?� then press ENTER. 3 Use the / (cursor up/down) buttons to select �FM Mono?� then press ENTER. The mono indicator (MONO) lights when the tuner is in mono reception mode.

Select FM Auto above to switch back to auto-stereo mode (the stereo indicator (ST) lights when receiving a stereo broadcast).

Improving poor AM sound
1 If the system isn�t already on, press STANDBY/ON to switch on. The simplest way to improve the sound quality of AM radio is to make sure that the TV in the room is switched off. Also try changing the position and direction of the AM loop antenna.

2 Press FM/AM to switch to the tuner, then press repeatedly to select the AM or FM band. The display shows the tuner band and frequency. 3 Tune to a radio station. There are three tuning modes�manual, auto, and highspeed: � Manual tuning: Press TUNE +/� repeatedly to change the displayed frequency.

Changing the noise cut mode
If you find that the sound quality is bad even after trying the above, you may be able to improve it using a different noise cut mode. Just choose the one that sounds best. 1 While listening to an AM radio station press SHIFT and SYSTEM SETUP. 2 Use the / (cursor left/right) buttons to choose �Noise Cut?� then press ENTER.
