The service manual is really great - thanks to it I was able to install the laser unit and thus "save" my CD-player, which seemed to be impossible before I had the manual.

Check the Syscon power supply.

Replace the end sensor.
Is voltage at both ends of the IR LED 0.8V-1.5?

Replace the LED.

Is the Syscon checked?

Check the assembly position of the Mode S/W.

Does the Capstan motor rotate? Is normal voltage applied at the Vcc1 and the Vcc2 of the Capstan motor?
